We made it!
It seems like 2018 was just yesterday! š But here we are, awaiting everything that 2019 will bring us.
I donāt know about you, but I want to have a victorious 2019. But I donāt just want victory, I want everything that comes with it. I want more peace and genuine happiness. When my illness tries to knock me down, I want to get back up stronger and more determined. I want to walk wholly in my calling and be obedient to the tasks that come with it. I want to look back on December 31, 2019 and say that I faced my battles with courage and I was patient with the process. I want to be a better wife, mother, friend, daughter, sister, woman, and child of God. I want it all, and I donāt think Iām crazy to have those aspirations.
In order to walk in victory, we must know what victory is. Victory (according to Merriam-Webster) is the āovercoming of an enemy or antagonist; achievement of mastery or success in a struggle or endeavor against odds or difficulties.ā If we dig deeper into this definition, victory can be an event or it can be a journey. It can take place over someone or something, or it can come through a process of growth and understanding of what you are battling.
Thereās no sense in choosing which definition we want to go by. We want our 2019 to encompass everything that victory entails, including the process that goes with it. We also need to remind ourselves that the process will not be easy - there will be discomfort, painful self-introspection, and stretching. Battles are always messy and gut wrenching. But we know that victory does not come before the battle. So keep in your memory James 1:12 (ESV), which says āBlessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.ā
Iām laying out all my plans to prepare for a VICTORIOUS 2019, and I would love if you are willing to walk with me.
